Pennywise On LOVELINE [Audio]

Pennywise is an American punk rock band from Hermosa Beach, California, formed in 1988. Their band name is derived the monster, It from the Stephen King novel, of the same title.

Pennywise's line-up, which remained constant from 1996 to 2009, consisted of Jim Lindberg (vocals), Fletcher Dragge (guitars), Randy Bradbury (bass) and Byron McMackin (drums). They kept their original line-up until original bassist Jason Thirsk committed suicide in 1996, due to issues with his alcoholism, after which Bradbury joined as his replacement. 



Loveline is a syndicated radio call-in program in the United States, Canada and Mexico, offering medical and relationship advice to listeners, often with the assistance of guests, typically actors and musicians. Its flagship station is KROQ-FM in Los Angeles.



Loveline follows the call-in question-and-answer model with the primary goal of helping youth and young adults with relationship, sexuality, and drug addiction problems. As a practicing internist and addiction medicine specialist, Dr. Drew's answers have medical credibility, and the addition of Adam Carolla's humor and insight increased the program's entertainment value as well. Carolla repeatedly stated his role was acting as "a sheep in wolf's clothing:" he lured listeners with dirty jokes and wisecracks in hopes they'd learn to improve their lives and remedy serious problems.
